Rodney McDonald

Rodney McDonald has been part of Elders Bega since 2010, becoming Director and Owner of the business in 2011. As Licensee in Charge, Rod focuses on residential sales and small acreages, combining local insight with strong leadership to guide the team.

Raised in Bega, Rod’s family has deep roots in the community. After completing school at Bega High, he studied and worked in Canberra before spending three years in Sydney. In 2006, he returned to Bega with his wife Alison, where they are now raising their two sons, both attending Bega High School.

Over the years, Rod has sold everything from town blocks to spectacular ocean-view hobby farms. His results regularly place him among the Top 100 Salespeople nationally within the Elders network. His achievements include multiple NSW/ACT Principal awards and recognition as an Elders Elite Performer.

Rod is known for his honesty, professionalism, and commitment to long-term relationships — many clients return to him when it’s time to sell again. He has also been a driving force in lifting the standard of real estate marketing in the Bega Valley, championing the use of high-quality photography, engaging property descriptions, and modern digital strategies.

A passionate community contributor, Rod volunteers as Vice President of the Bega Littleton Sister City Exchange and Vice President of the Bega Angledale Cricket Club. He joined the Board of Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care Ltd in 2022 and served as President of the Bega Valley Public School P&C for eight years until 2023.

Rod combines his professional expertise with a genuine love for his hometown, making him a trusted partner for clients across the Bega Valley.
